What brought you to Cōpare?
I was tired of the yo-yo dieting and wanted to find a sustainable plan where I could take off the weight in a healthy way, and still maintain my vegetarian lifestyle.
What was your health like before joining Cōpare?
I was in decent health before joining Copare, but I really wanted to increase my energy. I also was starting to notice aches and pains in my joints from carrying around extra weight.
What did you immediately learn about your eating habits? Did you identify or realize any patterns that surprised you?
One thing I learned immediately about my eating habits is the amount of sugar I was consuming. I was aware of the sugar I was eating when I indulged in sweet treats but had no idea how much hidden sugar is in most products you buy at the grocery store…things like pasta sauce, salad dressing, ketchup…even the almond milk I was drinking!
I’ve also become more aware of the emotional eating that I do, and am learning to embrace healthier habits in those moments.
What non-food factors, such as exercise, coaching, or sleep, influenced your weight loss?
The weekly coaching with Carla has been a huge part of my success.
I also learned about the importance of improving my sleep habits. There’s no doubt that on days when I don’t get enough sleep, I am more likely to eat foods that don’t serve me.
What was your mindset as you were going through the program?
The major mindset shift I’ve had with Copare is that losing weight is not an all or nothing proposition. You can slip up and still get right back on track. Just because you’re not perfect doesn’t mean you have to give up on your goals.
What’s the best piece of advice you’d give someone considering the Cōpare program?
I would say JUST DO IT! Do this for yourself. Or at least go in and get a consultation. I was blown away by how in depth my initial consultation was.

What role did your coach play in your success?
My coach Carla has played a huge role in my success. She’s rooted me on every step of the way, and her vast knowledge is always useful. The fact that I have access to a personal health coach who is a licensed, certified nutritionist is HUGE!
Do you feel equipped to face the invariable challenges you’ll face in maintaining your weight?
Losing weight is one thing, keeping it off is another. That’s why I love that with Copare you get ‘Copare For Life.’ So when I reach my goal, I will still have the support of my coach to help me keep the weight off. This will be a tremendous asset on days when I’m feeling off, or just need some extra support and accountability.
Why would you recommend others choose the personalized nutrition based program that Cōpare offers?
I’ve been on a lot of other programs and they either didn’t work or the results didn’t last. What I like most about Copare is that my program was customized specifically to me. It’s much easier than I thought it would be. I’m eating loads of foods I love, I don’t feel deprived, and I don’t have to kill myself at the gym.
