After turning 50, Jim realized he needed to start investing in his own health. His father and paternal grandfather had both died at age 52, due to complications from being overweight. After talking with his doctor and with the encouragement of a close friend, Jim decided it was time to get healthy and began a weight loss and nutrition program that enabled him to lose weight. His journey and the results he experienced, directly influenced his decision to open two weight loss centers on the West Coast.
After several discussions with Eric about the weight loss business in the Washington, DC area, they agreed that there was an opportunity to create a unique weight loss experience – and Cōpare (formerly EMP180) was born. Jim enjoys sharing his personal weight loss journey with clients, and in turn is inspired by clients overcoming their own challenges.
When Jim isn’t at Cōpare you will probably find him at the practice range or on the golf course. He will tell you that losing weight dramatically improved his golf game, giving him a better swing path and more mobility. He is also better able to navigate the golf course with his 25lb bag on his back.
