What were you most skeptical of when you first contacted Cōpare?

I was probably most skeptical of myself and if I would be fully able to commit and stick to the program.

What was your mindset as you were going through the program?

My mindset going through the program was that I needed to do this and stick with the program. I needed to do this for my health, my happiness, my children. Giving up or stopping just wasn’t an option.

Briefly describe your experience with Cōpare.

My Cōpare experience was amazing. I had the most wonderful coaches who always listened to me and were always giving great feedback and encouragement. If I had a day where I had gone off plan and was feeling bad or guilty about it, they were always quick to say it’s okay! One day is not going to kill you! As long as you hop right back on it and continue on this journey you will be fine. They would always remind me how far I’ve come.

What would you like to say to the people who supported you through your weight loss journey? What would you say to your doubters?

Thank you for all your support, it’s really what got me through this. Constantly cheering me on or having healthy food options if I was going to someone’s home made such a difference in making it easy for me to be successful! I really had no doubters! Everyone was super motivating and excited to see me succeed.

What’s the one piece of advice you’d give someone considering undertaking the Cōpare program?

Don’t give up! Stick with it! You will see results. I’ve done every diet fad out there with little to no success. This program is different. The meal plans are so easy to follow and the weekly coaching sessions and weigh-ins help to keep you accountable and motivated!

Being very strict with the program, support of others, and believing in myself that I can do this

Do you feel equipped to face the invariable challenges you’ll face in maintaining at/near your ideal weight?

Yes! I’ve completely changed the way I think about eating and food! I have the tools I need to be successful.

What strategies did Cōpare help you manifest that you feel confident will help you avoid “backsliding”?

They taught me that no food is a bad food. Everything is okay in moderation. They also taught me that even if you had a bad day with your food choices, it’s not the end of the world. It’s just getting right back on track that makes all the difference. Don’t let a bad day turn into a bad week, month, or year.

“I’m very pleased with Cōpare and the results. I really wondered if it was possible to get visceral fat down at 78 years of age. You read how, as you age, fat accumulates in the abdominal area. With the Cōpare food plan and support from my coach Stephanie, it happened.

The thing that helped me most was the support from you [Stephanie] and Tom. Both of you encouraged me all the way. I think support at home is critical, too. If you’re the one cooking, everybody else is on Cōpare to a certain extent.

And you tailored the food plan to my taste. I used the Cōpare food for three months, then switched to the whole food program. On whole food, I continued to lose weight, build muscle, and lose fat. It’s important not to lose muscle as you age, and this plan actually enabled me to increase muscle.

Another big plus of the Cōpare plan is the way it is structured to maintain weight loss. Other plans may work as long as you’re on the diet. The real test is if you can maintain the weight loss. The weight began to pile on after leaving the Air Force. Cōpare helped him lose it.

“I retired from the United States Air Force on February 1, 2005. I had always been in great shape and well within military standards. Over the years I stopped working out, the weight piled on, and I went from 170 to 220 pounds. I decided I needed to do something about it. I enrolled in the Cōpare plan with the intent to see whether I could not only lose the weight but get back into my uniform.

My 89-year-old dad was getting progressively sick and unfortunately, I knew it was a matter of time before he left us. He passed away on March 28, 2021. Because of COVID, we waited a little while to have his memorial service. He was also retired Air Force and my inspiration for serving. I knew we were going to have military honors and wanted to surprise my mother by wearing my uniform and presenting her with the United States flag. So on May 15, 2021, I put on my uniform for the first time in 16 years. Attached is a photo of my wife and I. I want to thank my coach, Goran, who’s been extremely supportive and helped me get where I am today. I couldn’t have done it without his support and the Cōpare plan. For any of you doubters out there, simply give it a try, follow the plan, and you’ll achieve success.

My lifestyle reflects many other young dads — trying to balance family, work, life responsibilities, and all while trying to stay healthy and active. Now that I understand nutrition and eating much better, it has not been challenging to keep the weight off. I feel like my old self again. My clothes fit better, I have more confidence, and running and exercising are more fun, easier, and more rewarding.
