What is included in the initial consultation?
Because we personalize all of our programs, it’s important to get to know you, your health history, lifestyle as well as your motivation for wanting to lose weight and get healthy. Your initial consultation is highly informative. You will spend about an hour with a knowledgeable Cōpare health coach or nutritionist. The conversation is comfortable and highly informative. We’ll also do a detailed body composition analysis utilizing our state of the art InBody machine and provide you with a printout of your results, This report provides you with a “snapshot” of your health providing details like your percentage of muscle and body fat, your visceral fat levels as well as your hydration levels.
What kind of results can I expect on your program?
Cōpare’s weight loss average is much higher than most programs. In general women on our program can expect to lose an average of 2.0 pounds per week and men can expect to lose an average of 3.0 to 3.5 pounds per week. We also monitor the results to make sure the weight loss is from body fat and not from muscle – this is extremely important. Results will vary and are highly dependent upon your age, activity level, body composition, health history as well as compliance with the program. We can guarantee that you will start to feel better and your energy levels will increase within the first couple of weeks of your program.
How do I know your program will work for me?
Our program is highly successful for all types of individuals and is rooted in nutritional science. We have worked with over 7,000 clients since 2016. Because we have the expertise to customize every plan, your weekly sessions with your coach are invaluable and will allow us to make adjustments to your program that will insure the best results.
What is your philosophy regarding nutrition?
We believe in a balanced approach and don’t believe in restricting any particular food group. We help you lose weight and reduce inflammation by providing you with the right balance of macronutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, healthy fats). Once you lose the weight, we gradually reintroduce healthy food options and provide you with a different set of macronutrients that will enable you to maintain your weight loss and continue to improve your body composition.
I have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes, is your program good for me?
Yes! We work with many pre-diabetic clients and also clients with Type 2 diabetes. Because we focus on reducing the unhealthy carbohydrates in your diet, we are helping to reduce inflammation and balance your blood sugar. We help to prevent pre-diabetic clients from developing Type 2 diabetes and often help reduce and eliminate medications associated with pre-diabetes/Type 2 diabetes.
I live outside of the Washington D.C. area, how can I participate in your program?
With our Copare Anywhere virtual program, we work with clients from all over the world. In fact, over 30% of our clients are virtual. Your program and your results will be the same as our in-person program. Because we still like to meet you face to face every week, ideally we’ll connect with you over a video call. If a phone call is easier for you, we can do that instead. Weekly support and accountability are critical to your success.
Do you include food with your program?
Accountability, support, weekly coaching and weekly body composition analysis are the most valuable parts of our program. While we do provide some food as part of our program, using our food is not required. We want to make sure that our program fits easily into your lifestyle and that you don’t feel hungry or restricted. Additionally, if you travel and enjoy eating out, we will make recommendations and assist with menu selections that will allow you to continue to lose weight on our program. We can accommodate any food allergies and dietary restrictions i.e. gluten free, dairy free etc.
Is your program keto?
Our program is healthy and much less restrictive than a Keto program. Our formula for weight loss is based on macronutrients which differ for every individual. We recommend a balance of carbs, proteins and healthy fats that promote weight loss (from fat) and protect muscle. Our program allows for more protein than keto, and does not restrict carbs as much as a keto plan. We also encourage the consumption of lean sources of protein and healthy fats including olive oil and avocado oil. Once our clients reach healthy body fat percentages, we have an excellent transition program where we re-introduce healthy/complex carbs. When our clients transition, they also have the support of a health coach for life! A consistent support system for education and accountability is key to maintaining weight loss.
I am a yo yo dieter. How will you help me maintain my weight loss?
Cōpare clients don’t just lose weight; they keep it off long-term. We work closely with each individual in the weight loss phase and even more closely during maintenance. We provide you with the nutrition education that will enable you to not only lose weight while on-program, but also keep your weight off long term. The investment you’re making in your health through Cōpare includes a coach for life. When you graduate from Cōpare, you will continue to meet with a coach at no additional investment. Your coach will help you maintain your weight loss and, more importantly, keep improving your body composition. We provide the support, guidance, meal planning and tools that will enable you to get healthy initially and stay healthy long term.
I am an athlete and only need to lose 10 pounds. Can you help?
Our program is not only about weight loss; we also help you improve your body composition through education and proper nutritional guidance. We help you understand what your body needs in order to achieve optimal performance. Several of our nutrition experts also have extensive backgrounds in personal training and endurance training.
I have a daughter who needs to lose weight. Do you offer a program for teens?
We work with people of all ages including teens (16 and over) and college students. Because we personalize all of our programs, we are able to help teens lose weight and also provide them with a nutrition education that will last a lifetime.
How much does your program cost?
Every Cōpare program is customized for each client, so it is difficult to determine your investment until we meet with you. Your personalized program is dependent upon your health history, medications, lifestyle, dietary restrictions/ preferences, age and body composition. During your consultation (virtual or in person), we’ll review your body composition results and your personal health summary and determine how long it will take you to reach your healthy weight goals. From there, we’ll provide you with an accurate cost for your specific program. Our consultations are comfortable and informative. We’ll never pressure you to sign up because we want you to be ready. Can I use my Flex Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA)?
Yes! Funds from an FSA or HSA are a great option and can help cover the costs of your Cōpare program. In some cases, you may need approval from your insurance company to have the expense covered. In this case, a physician may have to prescribe weight loss as a treatment for obesity related diseases such as diabetes, for example. Please contact your provider for more details.
Will insurance cover the program?
Some of our clients have gotten a portion of their weight loss program covered. We will provide you with the appropriate insurance codes so that you can contact your insurance company. We do not submit paperwork to your insurance company on your behalf.
Do you have financing and monthly payment plans?
Financing is available. Many clients take advantage of Care Credit, a health care credit card, to finance their weight loss investment at 0% for 12 months (credit approval required).
